About Santiago Church

Father Miguel Lopes Neto is the parish priest of Tavira and director of the Information office of the Dicoese of the Algarve. Please find more information on Father Neto in the Diocese do Algarve page.

Our Location

Santiago Church is located just off of Rua da Liberdade. Turn at the CTT office and walk up to the church.
Mass in English is on 10:30 am Sundays.

When are the Masses held at the Church?

We hold one Mass each week in English, which is typically at 10:30 AM on Sunday mornings. All are welcome to join, whether you are visiting or living in Tavira.

How can I volunteer for a ministry in the Church?

There are several ways you can get involved! Parishioners can volunteer as lectors (readers), Eucharistic ministers (distributing the host), or as part of the choir to sing during Mass. If you're interested, please complete the contact form and reach out to us on our Facebook and WhatsApp English Community Tavira groups.

Are there any special initiatives I can contribute to?

Yes! Currently, our parish is raising funds to replace the Church door.. Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated and will help us preserve this important part of our Church. You can contribute by speaking to us before and after mass.

Can I join the choir even if I’m not a professional singer?

Absolutely! Our choir is open to anyone who enjoys singing and wants to contribute to the Mass in a meaningful way. No professional experience is required—just a love of music and a desire to participate. We rehearse before Sunday Mass, so feel free to join us!
